The inaugural Cornish Guardian Community Awards are now open for entries to celebrate local people, groups and their endeavours.The awards will highlight the unsung heroes in our communities who work tirelessly to help others and who make a real difference to the lives of so many.
Readers have the chance to nominate and vote for the person they believe has contributed the most to the local community.
Once all the nominations are in, a shortlist will be established by public vote and a judging panel will choose the winners.
The worthy winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay on Friday,
March 28.
Twelve categories have been selected to honour all aspects of the local community: Teacher of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Community Champion, Good Neighbour, Charity Hero, Bravery Award, Adult Carer of the Year, Young Carer of the Year, Child of Courage, Health Worker of the Year, Caring Companyand Editor’s Choice Award.
Crantock Lodge are sponsoring the Adult Carer of the Year Award.
