Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic
You have done all you possibly could
To minimise the deep sense of separation
And to make Mum’s life happy and so very Good
In these times of such uncertainty
Of not seeing loved ones for such a long while
Thank you for making it possible still
For us to talk with Mum and to see her smile
Crantock Lodge is really a “home from Home”
You have literally become a second family
Mum simply thinks the world of you all
As do M,J and Me
Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for you
Ordering a hoist so mum can sit out on a chair
Painting her nails pink, a touch of lipstick
Arranging for her hairdresser to cut and style Mum’s hair.
And taking the time to sit and chat with Mum
Especially when you are so busy at this particular time
These acts of simple kindness don’t go unnoticed
We know you all go that extra mile to ensure she is fine
Facilitating outside visits for J and M
Baking a wonderful birthday cake –a 90th birthday surprise
Giving Mum these much needed hugs when we cannot
Filled our hearts and bought tears to our eyes.
And so as Christmas time now approaches
Though I sadly can’t be with Mum this year
I know in my heart she will be happy
Surrounded by you all, her “Second Family” –people so very dear
-people with very big hearts ,who just simply care
